Onyx is an AI assistant you talk to in plain language. Ask a business question and it works the answer, maths included. Ask for a written policy and it drafts it and saves the document to your Files. Ask for a posting plan and it lays out a seven-day schedule. It remembers what you tell it from one conversation to the next, and it says plainly when something is outside what it can do. You stay the one who decides.
What it does
- Answers and business maths. Ask a question in plain language and get a direct answer with the arithmetic worked. When something is outside what it can do, Onyx says so plainly.
- Documents, saved to your Files. Ask for a written policy and Onyx drafts it and saves the document to your Files.
- A seven-day posting schedule. Onyx can lay out a seven-day posting schedule.
- Memory across conversations. Tell Onyx a fact about your business once and it carries it into later conversations. When it does not know something, it does not invent it.
- Answers from a PDF you upload. Upload a PDF and ask about it; Onyx answers from the document.
- You see the spend. Usage is metered. Plain advice is not held for approval, declining an approval costs nothing, and the spend page matches what leaves your wallet. VIP includes a monthly usage credit.
- In progress. Not offered as working features yet: website and app building, video, images, deep research, web research with sources, spreadsheet reading, voice, briefings, SEO checks, and choosing your own model.
How to get Onyx
Every signed-in member can open Onyx in free mode and ask it questions at no cost. Free mode has a limit. Full Onyx is part of VIP — $39/mo at the member rate through the Obsidian Metrics community, or $59/mo direct from the website. The one-time Onyx seat is not on sale at the moment. Usage is metered.
